Mr Craig Donohue treats a wide variety of conditions of the hip and knee and has a keen interest in Orthopaedic trauma and sports injuries. He specialises in conditions and injuries of the hip and knee.

Craig regularly performs knee arthroscopy, ACL reconstructions and routinely performs hip and knee Replacement surgery utilising 3D-printed patient specific instrumentation (PSI). He uses local infiltration analgesia (LIA) during surgery – which reduces pain and improves early recovery from surgery.

Craig operates privately from Knox Private Hospital and consults from Victorian Orthopaedic Associates accommodating urgent referrals including Workcover, TAC, DVA, private and uninsured patients. He is a member of the Orthopaedic on call roster at Knox Private Hospital and regularly treats sporting injuries and fractures.

Mr Craig Donohue is a Melbourne and Internationally trained Orthopaedic surgeon.

He obtained his medical degree at The University of Melbourne and subsequently completed his advanced Orthopaedic surgery training in Melbourne. He became a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2006. He then undertook a one-year fellowship in Cambridge, in the UK, in hip and knee surgery. He has visited many orthopaedic surgical units in Europe and in North America.

Craig is the current Chairman of the Knox Private Hospital Theatre Advisory Committee. He also Chairs the Knox Private Hospital Orthopaedic Craft Group, and he runs the 3 monthly Orthopaedic audit. He represents Orthopaedics on the Knox Private Hospital Medical Advisory Committee. Craig also regularly attends Medical Panels as an Expert Member to assist and adjudicate on injured Workcover and Wrongs Act patients.

Craig holds a public appointment as an orthopaedic surgeon at The Alfred, where he teaches trainee Orthopaedic registrars, and manages complex patients at The Alfred trauma centre. He is an adjunct lecturer at Monash University.

Craig keenly listens to patients and lets them fully explain their problems and concerns. He then advises them on individualised operative and non-operative treatment options. The patient is central in the decision-making process.
